Friends Pop-Up: Chicago

Who doesn't love a walk down memory lane?

You may have already seen my Friends Pop-Up NYC blog post from 2 years ago. Well how about another one?

This time my friend Mary and I took a trip to Chicago to check out their recreation of the Friends TV show. While the mask mandate was still in effect, we got to show off our Friends face masks made using JoAnn fabrics Central Perk cotton print in black.

Since it was February, I wanted to do a conversational print with women, which I had several options for.

The first is a Mood Exclusive Hairspray print in brushed stretch cotton.

The second is a Mood Exclusive Fashionista print in brushed stretch cotton.

And the third is a Lady McElroy Fashion Focused cotton lawn fabric from Lamazi Fabrics.

I chose to use the 3rd option after taking a poll on Instagram.

I only had 1.5 yards of this fabric so I had to be careful with what I chose. I also didn't want to have too many seams and break up the pattern too much.

So after much deliberation I chose to use New Look #N6656 and I made version B! The blouse has a center back invisible zipper and it uses bias tape for the armhole and neckline finishing. I love the curved waist seam and small gathers along the bust to create visual interest.

Scroll down to see how it turned out and what we saw at the exhibit. And yes! Central Perk really is made out of Legos:
