Tabitha Sewer recently revealed her newest project: her very first pattern called Lena Horne. This dress is a classic, simple, vintage dress with a square neckline and ruffles that go from the front all the way to the back. The dress has princess seams on the bodice and a side seam invisible zipper.
There are two length options: a midi and knee-length. I opted to make the midi length and shorten the dress to 26" as the pattern of my cotton voile fabric had a long scallop. The fabric comes from my stash, it is a lightweight and sheer blue cotton voile with a beautiful embroidered floral scallop design.
The dress is bodice-lined but I chose to line the skirt as well because my fabric was so sheer. Astoria Fashion Fabrics has a great selection of lining fabrics to choose from; I picked a lightweight white georgette to line this dress.
